Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead end-to-end procurement cycles, from identifying market opportunities to negotiating and finalizing high-value contracts with key vendors.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and optimal pricing.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze spending patterns and implement cost-saving initiatives to maximize procurement ROI.
- Process Improvement: Streamline procurement workflows by leveraging technology (e.g., SAP, Coupa) and implementing best-in-class inventory management practices.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a team of junior buyers and analysts, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and relevant legal regulations.
- Market Analysis: Monitor global market trends and commodity prices to anticipate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification: CIPS Level 4 qualified or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management within a corporate environment.
- Skills: Proven track record of negotiating complex contracts and managing multi-million pound budgets.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and the ability to solve complex supply chain challenges under pressure.
