- Inventory Planning & Optimization: Develop and execute seasonal assortment plans and inventory strategies to maximize sales and minimize stockouts.
- Data Analysis: Analyze sales performance, turn rates, and margin reports to identify trends and adjust buying plans in real-time.
- Vendor Collaboration: Partner with suppliers and vendors to negotiate terms, manage lead times, and ensure product quality standards are met.
- Merchandising Execution: Oversee the visual merchandising standards and ensure floor presentation aligns with brand identity and sales goals.
- Forecasting: Utilize historical data and market intelligence to create accurate sales forecasts for future seasons.
- Cost Management: Monitor inventory costs and implement markdown strategies to optimize stock velocity and gross margin.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior analysts and collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing and logistics.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in retail merchandising, buying, or inventory planning within the fashion industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable business insights.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings to senior leadership.
