Responsibilities
- Strategic Inventory Management: Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise plans to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing markdowns and excess inventory.
- Advanced Sales Forecasting: Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and seasonal patterns to produce accurate revenue forecasts and stock-to-sales ratios.
- Vendor & Supplier Relations: Collaborate closely with vendors to negotiate terms, monitor delivery schedules, and resolve supply chain discrepancies.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor weekly and monthly KPIs, conducting deep-dive analyses to identify underperforming categories and propose corrective actions.
- Collaborative Cross-Functional Leadership: Work with Visual Merchandising and Marketing teams to align product placement with promotional strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field; MBA is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in merchandise planning, retail buying, or supply chain management.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Macros) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JDA, or Oracle Retail).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into strategic business recommendations.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings to C-level executives.
