Are you a data-driven visionary with a passion for retail excellence? Luminary Retail Group is seeking a strategic Senior Merchandise Planner to join our dynamic team in the heart of Manhattan. In this role, you will lead the financial strategy for our multi-category product lines, ensuring that our inventory investments align perfectly with consumer demand and global market trends.
You will work cross-functionally with buying, design, and supply chain teams to optimize profitability, mitigate stock risks, and drive top-line revenue growth for our premium retail brand.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise financial plans for multi-channel product categories.
- Conduct deep-dive trend analysis to forecast demand, seasonal shifts, and inventory requirements.
- Partner with the buying team to build assortment strategies that maximize margin and turnover.
- Monitor OTB (Open-to-Buy) budgets to ensure financial targets are met while mitigating inventory risks.
- Analyze site performance metrics and KPIs to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Lead inventory distribution strategy across physical stores and digital channels.
- Present quarterly performance reports to senior leadership with actionable insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in merchandise planning or retail financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, modeling) and retail planning software.
- Strong understanding of retail math, inventory metrics, and gross margin optimization.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive results in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Experience with JDA/Blue Yonder or equivalent enterprise planning platforms is preferred.
