Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive seasonal merchandise financial plans to meet sales, margin, and inventory turnover goals.
- Collaborate with Buying and Design teams to align product assortments with regional demand patterns and consumer insights.
- Conduct deep-dive business reviews to identify risks and opportunities in real-time, adjusting strategies to optimize SKU performance.
- Manage open-to-buy (OTB) processes, ensuring budget adherence and strategic allocation across physical and digital channels.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to provide accurate long-range forecasts for diverse product categories.
- Partner with supply chain logistics to streamline inventory flow and minimize overstock or stock-out scenarios.
- Mentor junior analysts on planning best practices and data visualization techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in merchandise planning or retail financial forecasting.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with planning software (e.g., Oracle Retail, SAP, or JDA/Blue Yonder) is required.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable business recommendations.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional stakeholders at the leadership level.
- Deep understanding of retail math, inventory KPIs, and promotional strategy impact.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, high-pressure retail environment.
