Responsibilities
- Strategic Forecasting: Develop and execute comprehensive sales forecasts and merchandise plans to meet or exceed annual revenue targets.
- Inventory Optimization: Manage stock levels, lead buy decisions, and reduce markdown exposure through accurate demand planning.
- Assortment Planning: Design and refine product assortments based on customer insights, market trends, and historical performance data.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis of sales variances, inventory turns, and gross margin return on investment (GMROI) on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Buyers, Designers, and Supply Chain teams to align merchandise strategies with overall business objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive landscape and consumer behavior to identify new opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in merchandise planning, buying, or retail operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JDA, Retail Pro).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into clear, actionable business insights.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present strategies to senior leadership.
- Problem Solving: Proven track record of solving inventory discrepancies and optimizing stock flow in a high-volume environment.
