Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret a wide range of complex clinical laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, and microbiology.
- Supervise and mentor junior laboratory staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and quality control protocols.
- Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated laboratory equipment to ensure peak performance and data integrity.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance audits to comply with CLIA and CAP regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information.
- Conduct research and development projects to improve existing testing methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field.
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification or equivalent credentials required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and high ethical standards.
- Valid California state laboratory license.
