Responsibilities
- Perform complex clinical laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and other body fluids using automated and manual methods.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Adhere to strict quality control and safety protocols (CLIA, CAP, OSHA).
- Analyze test results and report findings to physicians and healthcare providers in a timely manner.
- Mentor junior staff and participate in proficiency testing programs.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all laboratory procedures and results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related scientific field.
- ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent certification required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.
- Strong knowledge of hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and blood banking.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
