Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret complex clinical laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunohematology.
- Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards such as CLIA, CAP, and HIPAA to ensure patient safety and data integrity.
- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and timely reporting of critical results.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior medical technologists and laboratory support staff.
- Participate in quality assurance programs, including proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and corrective action planning.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to resolve ambiguous test results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related Life Science field.
- Current ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Technologist (or eligible for certification).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or reference laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of automated laboratory instrumentation and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment under pressure.
