Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee complex diagnostic testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
- Maintain strict adherence to CLIA, CAP, and FDA regulations and laboratory safety protocols.
- Mentor and train junior laboratory staff, ensuring high performance and compliance.
- Analyze and troubleshoot instrument issues, performing routine maintenance and calibration.
- Review and verify the accuracy of test results before patient reporting.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related life science field.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the ASCP or AMT.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and automated analyzers.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.
