Responsibilities
- Abstract clinical information from medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes with 99% accuracy.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
- Mentor junior coders and provide feedback on documentation quality.
- Collaborate with physicians and billing staff to resolve coding queries and denials.
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional medical coding experience.
- Certification: RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or CCS-P preferred.
- Deep knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
