Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire revenue cycle, from patient registration to final claim payment.
- Analyze denied claims and appeal rejections to maximize reimbursement rates.
- Train junior staff on proper coding practices and billing software usage.
- Review medical records for clinical documentation integrity to support accurate coding.
- Conduct regular audits of billing processes to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with insurance providers to resolve complex billing issues.
- Generate and interpret financial reports to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Health Information Management.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Advanced knowledge of medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth).
- Strong understanding of HIPAA privacy laws and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
