Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical Design: Conceptualize and develop complex mechanical systems and components using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor).
- Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the fabrication of prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate performance, durability, and safety standards.
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including 2D drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and design specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, such as ISO, ANSI, and FDA regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce costs without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development within the manufacturing or engineering sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks is a plus) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), material properties, and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, etc.).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot design flaws and innovate practical solutions under tight deadlines.
