Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle, from concept generation through prototyping to production
- Develop detailed CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering and software development
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes and product reliability
- Manage project timelines, resources, and vendor relationships
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Proven track record in product development for industrial or consumer markets
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, CNC)
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Project management certification (PMP) preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts
- Knowledge of mechatronics integration principles
