Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation to production release
- Optimize component/system performance using FEA and CFD analysis (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation)
- Develop detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings per ASME Y14.5 standards
- Interface with suppliers for prototype fabrication and material selection
- Design robust testing protocols and validate designs through physical prototypes
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical product development
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM/PLM systems
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC machining)
- Experience with automotive systems (powertrain, chassis, thermal management)
- Certification in Six Sigma or DFSS highly desirable
- Demonstrated success in bringing complex mechanical systems to market
