Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigative projects from inception to publication
- Develop and cultivate confidential sources while maintaining journalistic ethics
- Produce in-depth multimedia content including long-form articles, podcasts, and video documentaries
- Analyze data and public records to uncover systemic issues
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on digital storytelling initiatives
- Represent the publication at industry events and public forums
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional investigative journalism experience
- Proven track record of breaking high-impact stories
- Expertise in FOIA requests, financial forensics, and data analysis
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with portfolio of published work
- Proficiency in digital tools (CMS, SEO, multimedia production)
- Strong understanding of media law and ethical journalism standards
- Ability to work under deadline pressure with minimal supervision
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
