Responsibilities
- Lead complex, long-form investigative projects from initial pitch to final publication.
- Conduct deep-dive research, document analysis, and public records requests (FOIA).
- Cultivate and maintain a diverse network of confidential sources and industry whistleblowers.
- Collaborate with multimedia producers and data analysts to create compelling, cross-platform digital content.
- Adhere to the highest standards of journalistic ethics, accuracy, and legal compliance.
- Mentor junior reporters and assist in editorial brainstorming sessions.
- Represent the organization in public forums, industry panels, and media appearances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in investigative or hard-news reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to produce award-winning, high-impact investigative work.
- Advanced proficiency in investigative research tools, including public record databases and data-scraping software.
- Exceptional narrative writing skills with a keen eye for detail and pacing.
- Proven ability to manage tight deadlines while navigating sensitive subject matter.
- Deep understanding of digital storytelling trends and audience engagement strategies.
