Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-form investigative projects from pitch to publication.
- Cultivate and maintain a diverse network of reliable sources across private and public sectors.
- Analyze complex data sets, financial records, and public documents to uncover hidden narratives.
- Collaborate with the legal and editorial teams to ensure factual accuracy and ethical standards.
- Mentor junior reporters and assist in editorial brainstorming sessions.
- Produce multimedia components, including digital summaries and supporting data visualizations.
- Represent the publication in public forums, industry panels, and digital interviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in newsroom investigative reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to produce scoops and high-impact investigative features.
- Exceptional proficiency in public record requests (FOIA/FOIL) and database research.
- Strong grasp of digital media trends and long-form storytelling formats.
- Impeccable ethical judgment and a commitment to journalistic integrity.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
