Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigations spanning politics, finance, and social justice
- Develop and execute multi-platform storytelling strategies (print, video, podcast)
- Mentor junior journalists and foster a collaborative newsroom culture
- Build and maintain confidential source networks
- Analyze data sets to uncover patterns and validate findings
- Represent the organization at industry events and public forums
- Adhere to strict journalistic ethics and fact-checking standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of investigative journalism experience
- Proven track record of breaking major stories with national impact
- Expertise in FOIA requests, public records analysis, and undercover techniques
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Flourish)
- Strong editorial judgment and crisis management skills
- Portfolio demonstrating multimedia storytelling capabilities
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Master's degree in Journalism or related field preferred
