Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigative projects from concept to publication, ensuring accuracy and ethical standards
- Produce compelling multimedia content including video documentaries, podcasts, and interactive data visualizations
- Cultivate and maintain confidential sources while adhering to journalistic best practices
- Mentor junior journalists through story development and editorial feedback sessions
- Collaborate with editors, designers, and developers to create immersive digital storytelling experiences
- Represent the organization at industry events and maintain professional network relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of professional investigative journalism experience with published portfolio
- Expertise in FOIA requests, database analysis, and advanced research methodologies
- Proficiency in multimedia production tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines with high editorial standards
- Strong understanding of media law, ethics, and libel considerations
- Experience mentoring junior journalists and leading editorial projects
