Responsibilities
- Lead in-depth investigations across politics, business, and social justice beats
- Develop original story concepts with editorial board approval
- Produce multimedia content including video packages, podcasts, and long-form articles
- Cultivate and maintain confidential sources for exclusive reporting
- Collaborate with data visualization specialists to enhance storytelling
- Mentor junior journalists through editorial review and skills workshops
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and public forums
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional journalism experience with published investigative work
- Portfolio demonstrating impactful reporting and ethical storytelling
- Expertise in FOIA requests, public records research, and data analysis
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CMS platforms, and social media tools
- Ability to work under deadline pressure while maintaining journalistic integrity
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Experience managing complex investigations with multiple stakeholders
