Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigative projects from conception to publication
- Cultivate and maintain high-level sources across government and industry
- Produce compelling multimedia content including documentaries and podcasts
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data visualization and interactive storytelling
- Represent the organization at industry events and conferences
- Adhere to strict journalistic ethics and fact-checking standards
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional journalism experience with 3+ years in investigative reporting
- Proven track record of impactful investigative stories with measurable societal impact
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities across platforms
- Expertise in public records research, FOIA requests, and database analysis
- Experience managing long-term projects and meeting tight deadlines
- Strong portfolio showcasing multimedia storytelling capabilities
- Journalism degree or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to work under pressure and navigate sensitive ethical dilemmas
