Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigative projects from conception to publication, including data analysis and source cultivation
- Produce original multimedia content (video, audio, interactive graphics) to complement written reporting
- Develop and maintain deep source networks across government, corporate, and community sectors
- Collaborate with editors to ensure factual accuracy and ethical standards in all published work
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy discussions
- Represent Metro Pulse at industry conferences and public speaking engagements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional journalism experience with demonstrated investigative portfolio
- Expertise in public records research, FOIA requests, and data journalism techniques
- Proficiency with digital production tools (Adobe Creative Suite, CMS platforms)
- Exceptional writing skills with ability to adapt tone for diverse audiences
- Strong ethical judgment and commitment to journalistic integrity
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (equivalent experience accepted)
