Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigations and produce in-depth multimedia stories across platforms
- Develop and maintain trusted sources across government, corporate, and community sectors
- Collaborate with editors, designers, and video producers to create compelling narratives
- Analyze data and public records to uncover patterns and evidence
- Adhere to strict journalistic ethics and AP style guidelines
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy
- Represent the organization at industry events and conferences
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional journalism experience with 3+ in investigative reporting
- Proven track record of breaking significant stories and winning journalism awards
- Expertise in data journalism, FOIA requests, and advanced research techniques
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities across mediums
- Deep understanding of media law, ethics, and libel concerns
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Portfolio demonstrating impactful investigative work
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
