Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial and personal insurance applications to assess risk exposure
- Develop tailored policy structures and pricing strategies aligned with regulatory standards
- Leverage data analytics and industry benchmarks to optimize underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to resolve coverage gaps and negotiate terms
- Maintain compliance with state and federal insurance regulations
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with property/casualty focus
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in risk modeling
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Knowledge of NY insurance regulations and market trends
