Responsibilities
- Analyze commercial insurance applications using advanced risk assessment methodologies
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines for specialized insurance products
- Collaborate with actuarial teams to price policies accurately and competitively
- Manage relationships with brokers and ensure seamless policy placement
- Identify emerging risks and propose mitigation strategies for portfolio optimization
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process innovation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- CPCU or AU designation strongly preferred
- Proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Expertise in regulatory compliance (NAIC, state-specific)
- Strong analytical skills with data interpretation capabilities
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
