Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial insurance applications and assess risk exposure using advanced analytics
- Develop tailored insurance solutions and policy terms aligned with client needs and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with actuaries and claims teams to refine risk modeling frameworks
- Lead underwriting committees and present high-value cases to executive stakeholders
- Maintain compliance with state insurance regulations and internal governance protocols
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process optimization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field; relevant certifications (CPCU, ARM) preferred
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with property/casualty specialization
- Expertise in risk analysis tools (e.g., RMS, Guidewire) and regulatory environments
- Proven track record in underwriting complex commercial risks and large accounts
- Strong quantitative skills with ability to interpret financial statements and loss runs
- Excellent negotiation abilities and stakeholder management experience
- Valid state insurance producer license (NY or ability to obtain immediately)
