Responsibilities
- Analyze complex risk profiles and financial data to determine appropriate coverage levels and premium structures.
- Execute underwriting decisions for commercial and personal lines insurance with a focus on profitability and risk mitigation.
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines, ensuring compliance with state regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support new business development.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for portfolio optimization.
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure they remain aligned with current risk assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Masterās preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or property & casualty underwriting.
- Valid state insurance license (NY or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency in underwriting platforms such as Guidewire or Duck Creek Systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and market trends.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for client and internal presentations.
