Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of large-scale healthcare IT projects, including EHR implementations and medical device integrations.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure all projects strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations, GDPR standards, and internal data governance policies to protect sensitive patient information.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams, clinical staff, and executive leadership to align project goals with business objectives.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external software vendors and technology partners, negotiating contracts and overseeing system upgrades.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks and develop proactive strategies to minimize impact on timelines and budgets.
- Process Optimization: Analyze current workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement Agile methodologies to enhance delivery speed and quality.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in healthcare IT project management or clinical systems implementation.
- Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or Prince2 certification is strongly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10) and experience with major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Regulatory Expertise: Proven track record of ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
