Responsibilities
- Analyze complex medical datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational efficiency improvement.
- Ensure the accurate and timely coding of medical records using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines to support proper reimbursement.
- Collaborate closely with clinical leads, billing specialists, and IT teams to interpret data requirements and design robust solutions.
- Monitor regulatory compliance with HIPAA and HITECH standards, conducting regular audits of data integrity.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive decision-making.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, specifically Epic and Cerner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare analytics, medical coding, or health information management.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or Tableau for data extraction and visualization.
- Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, including DRGs and PPS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
