Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence and minimize liability.
- Manage the EHS budget, including training programs, safety equipment procurement, and emergency response resource allocation.
- Provide expert guidance and training to management and staff on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and external consultants to maintain up-to-date compliance status.
- Drive initiatives for sustainability, waste reduction, and energy efficiency across all operational sites.
Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in EHS management within a corporate or industrial setting.
- Proven track record of implementing EHS systems and achieving compliance objectives.
- Strong knowledge of UK legislation including HSE regulations, COSHH, and RIDDOR.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in using EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
