The Department of Technology Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Policy Analyst to join our elite team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex technical security requirements and high-level government policy, ensuring our agencies remain resilient against evolving global threats.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of public sector security, working directly with executive leadership to implement national cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine cybersecurity policies that align with NIST and FISMA frameworks.
- Lead cross-departmental risk assessment initiatives to identify and mitigate digital vulnerabilities.
- Facilitate communication between technical engineering teams and non-technical administrative stakeholders.
- Author comprehensive audit reports and compliance documentation for congressional review.
- Collaborate with inter-agency task forces to respond to emerging national cybersecurity threats.
- Conduct continuous monitoring of legislative changes to ensure agency-wide regulatory compliance.
- Provide strategic briefings to executive directors regarding ongoing security posture and risk remediation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, policy development, or information assurance.
- Proven track record of working within the federal or public sector regulatory environment.
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Deep understanding of NIST 800-53, CMMC, and FedRAMP requirements.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical data for diverse audiences.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are highly preferred.
