Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity policies aligned with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Conduct cross-departmental risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in public infrastructure.
- Lead incident response planning sessions and tabletop exercises for government stakeholders.
- Collaborate with legislative teams to translate technical security requirements into actionable policy guidance.
- Monitor emerging cyber threats and provide intelligence briefings to executive leadership.
- Ensure continuous compliance with federal regulatory requirements and internal security protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity policy, compliance, or risk management.
- Deep working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP frameworks.
- Proven ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Industry-recognized certification such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA is highly preferred.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance.
- Experience working within a federal or state government environment.
