Responsibilities
- Develop and refine federal cybersecurity policies to address emerging threats and technological advancements.
- Provide expert briefings to executive leadership on digital risk management and policy impact.
- Collaborate with interagency stakeholders to synchronize cybersecurity protocols across departments.
- Conduct comprehensive policy reviews to ensure compliance with federal standards such as FISMA and NIST.
- Lead strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing legacy system security frameworks.
- Represent the Department in national-level forums regarding digital infrastructure protection.
- Analyze legislative proposals to determine operational and technical implications for public systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Public Policy, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in cybersecurity policy, risk management, or federal IT governance.
- Deep understanding of NIST frameworks, FISMA, and federal cybersecurity compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable policy for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in interagency collaboration and cross-functional project leadership.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a history of drafting executive-level reports.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
