Responsibilities
- Spearhead Threat Detection: Monitor security systems 24/7 to identify, analyze, and respond to potential cyber threats and intrusions in real-time.
- Manage Risk & Compliance: Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other federal regulations.
- Incident Response Leadership: Lead the investigation and remediation of security breaches, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external law enforcement as needed.
- Security Architecture: Design and implement robust security controls, firewalls, and encryption protocols to protect sensitive government data.
- Vulnerability Management: Oversee the patch management process and identify vulnerabilities in network infrastructure before they can be exploited.
- Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs to educate staff on best practices and emerging threat vectors.
Qualifications
- Certification: Possession of CISSP, CISM, or Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information assurance.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and scripting languages (Python or Bash).
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical leadership and stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required.
