Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify security gaps within federal systems.
- Manage and respond to security incidents, including 24/7 on-call rotation for critical breaches.
- Ensure full compliance with FISMA, NIST, and other regulatory frameworks through regular audits and reporting.
- Collaborate with IT operations teams to implement security patches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training programs for federal employees.
- Advise senior leadership on emerging cyber threats and recommend strategic mitigation measures.
- Oversee third-party vendor security assessments and manage security contracts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ is mandatory.
- Active Top Secret security clearance with favorable adjudication history.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, specifically within the public sector or federal contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure).
- Proven experience in writing technical reports and communicating complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
