Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate complex commercial insurance submissions for profitability and risk appetite.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers to secure high-value business.
- Manage a diverse book of business, ensuring renewal retention and new business production targets are met.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, utilizing advanced data analytics and predictive modeling tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Claims and Actuarial departments, to optimize risk strategies.
- Maintain high standards of underwriting discipline and regulatory compliance across all policies.
- Mentor junior underwriters and foster a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property/Casualty focus).
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, industry trends, and regulatory environments.
- Strong proficiency in industry-standard underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
