The Department of Technology and Innovation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead the modernization of our core public sector digital services. In this mission-critical role, you will architect secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments that serve millions of citizens daily, ensuring transparency, accessibility, and high availability.
You will work alongside a dedicated team of technologists, policy experts, and product managers to champion DevSecOps practices and cloud-native solutions in a secure, federal-grade environment.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain multi-region, high-availability cloud infrastructure on AWS GovCloud.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to ensure environment reproducibility and consistency.
- Lead the migration of legacy on-premises applications to modern, containerized cloud environments.
- Enforce rigorous security protocols and compliance standards, including FISMA and NIST 800-53.
- Design automated CI/CD pipelines to accelerate the delivery of secure public-facing services.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to define cloud strategy and capacity planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, with a focus on AWS and large-scale enterprise systems.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies, specifically Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker.
- Demonstrated expertise in networking fundamentals (VPC, DNS, Load Balancing) and cybersecurity best practices.
- Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust security clearance.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, distributed systems under tight deadlines.
