The Department of Digital Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to architect and maintain mission-critical cloud environments. In this role, you will lead high-impact initiatives, ensuring our public services remain resilient, scalable, and secure for millions of citizens.
You will work at the intersection of government service and cutting-edge technology, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement Zero Trust architectures and automated deployment pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain highly available, secure cloud architectures on AWS/Azure GovCloud environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to streamline provisioning.
- Lead efforts in migrating legacy on-premises workloads to cloud-native platforms.
- Enforce rigorous security compliance standards (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53) across all system layers.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, secure, and reliable deployment cycles.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and foster a culture of technical excellence and best practices.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to define infrastructure roadmaps and technical strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or systems engineering.
- Deep expertise in AWS or Azure GovCloud and their respective security services.
- Proven ability to script and automate tasks using Python, Bash, or Go.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration at scale.
- Experience navigating FedRAMP/NIST compliance requirements in a public sector context.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a federal security clearance.
