Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of secure, high-availability cloud architectures on AWS/Azure.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to migrate legacy on-premises applications to modern cloud platforms.
- Define and enforce infrastructure-as-code (IaC) standards and best practices across the organization.
- Develop comprehensive security roadmaps to ensure compliance with FedRAMP and NIST guidelines.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Oversee vendor relationships and optimize cloud operational expenditures (FinOps).
- Present technical strategies and project roadmaps to department executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in systems architecture, with at least 4 years focused on cloud technologies.
- Current professional-level certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Deep expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes, and containerization strategies.
- Strong understanding of public sector security regulations (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST).
- Proven track record of managing large-scale migration projects within complex organizations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
