Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and deployment of secure, scalable cloud-based systems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Ensure all infrastructure designs strictly adhere to FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP compliance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional agency teams to migrate legacy on-premise applications to modern cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding system architecture, security protocols, and disaster recovery plans.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and foster a culture of automation, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
- Manage relationships with key vendors to ensure service-level agreements and technical standards are met.
- Implement rigorous monitoring and observability tools to ensure 99.99% system availability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure engineering.
- Current active professional-level cloud certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Deep technical expertise in containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proven track record of managing cloud security in high-compliance environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
