We are seeking a visionary Cloud Infrastructure Architect to design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native solutions that impact the lives of millions of Maryland residents.
You will play a pivotal role in modernizing legacy state infrastructure, ensuring high availability for critical public sector applications, and championing best practices in cloud governance and security.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain highly available multi-cloud infrastructure environments (AWS/Azure).
- Lead the migration of legacy on-premises workloads to secure cloud-native architectures.
- Develop and enforce automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using Terraform and Ansible.
- Provide technical leadership in cloud security, ensuring full compliance with state and federal data protection mandates.
- Collaborate with inter-agency stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-impact digital solutions.
- Establish monitoring, logging, and incident response procedures to maintain 99.99% system uptime.
- Mentor junior engineering staff on cloud best practices, DevOps methodologies, and performance optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering or cloud architecture.
- Expertise in AWS or Azure cloud platforms with current professional-level certifications.
- Extensive experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation tasks.
- Deep understanding of Zero Trust security models and public sector compliance (FedRAMP, NIST).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a high-level government security clearance.
