Responsibilities
- Architect and implement robust, scalable, and secure hybrid cloud solutions using AWS and Azure platforms.
- Lead the migration of legacy state applications to containerized cloud-native architectures.
- Collaborate with inter-agency stakeholders to define technology roadmaps that align with statewide strategic initiatives.
- Implement automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment cycles for government digital services.
- Establish comprehensive cloud governance, cost-optimization, and performance monitoring standards.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all infrastructure solutions adhere to strict federal and state cybersecurity compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, systems engineering, or devops.
- Proven expertise in AWS or Azure cloud services, including VPC, IAM, RDS, and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience in managing public sector compliance standards and data privacy regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for executive leadership.
- Professional certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
