Responsibilities
- Audit & Validate: Conduct rigorous audits of clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to medical coding standards (ICD-10, CPT).
- System Optimization: Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to troubleshoot data discrepancies and optimize EHR workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Compliance Assurance: Monitor data handling practices to ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and organizational privacy policies.
- Training & Support: Provide mentorship to junior staff and conduct training sessions on data entry protocols and best practices.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze complex healthcare data reports to identify trends and support strategic decision-making by stakeholders.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to resolve data-related queries and ensure seamless information flow.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in clinical data management, medical coding, or health informatics.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth) and SQL database management is a strong plus.
- Certification: RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification is highly desirable.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex medical data into actionable insights.
- Remote Readiness: Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong time management skills.
