Responsibilities

  • Manage pre- and post-operative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients.
  • Conduct thorough daily rounds and formulate patient treatment plans in coordination with the surgical team.
  • Perform bedside diagnostic procedures, including arterial line insertion and chest tube management.
  • Interpret complex diagnostic data including EKGs, echocardiograms, and cardiac catheterization reports.
  • Educate patients and their families on long-term cardiac health and post-discharge protocols.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and reduce length of stay.

Qualifications

  • Current Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing.
  • Master’s degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
