Responsibilities
- Provide advanced cardiac nursing care for post-op cardiac patients in ICU settings
- Administer specialized medications and monitor telemetry data with precision
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with cardiologists
- Mentor junior nursing staff and conduct clinical skills workshops
- Participate in cardiac catheterization procedures and emergency response drills
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead patient education programs for cardiac recovery and lifestyle management
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferred
- Current Illinois RN license with 5+ years cardiac nursing experience
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications mandatory
- Expertise in hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac medication administration
- Proven ability to function effectively in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with Epic EMR system and cardiac monitoring equipment
