Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and diagnostic assessments for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with cardiologists and thoracic surgeons.
- Interpret complex diagnostic tests, including EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff and junior practitioners.
- Coordinate transitions of care and patient education regarding heart-healthy lifestyle modifications and medication adherence.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient status and optimize treatment strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cardiology, critical care, or an acute care setting.
- Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with cardiac focus.
- BLS and ACLS certification required; PCCN or CCRN certification is highly desirable.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure medical environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic.
