Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical and cardiology teams.
- Interpret complex diagnostic tests, including EKGs, echocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests.
- Provide post-operative care and education to patients following cardiothoracic procedures.
- Lead multidisciplinary rounds to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Maintain precise medical documentation in compliance with hospital standards and regulations.
- Educate patients and families on long-term cardiac health management and medication adherence.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current, unencumbered RN and NP licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
- Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with cardiac focus.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a cardiac unit, ICU, or cardiology clinic.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
