Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments of patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
- Formulate and execute evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons and electrophysiologists.
- Interpret diagnostic tests including EKG, echocardiograms, and stress tests to guide therapeutic interventions.
- Provide patient and family education regarding cardiac procedures, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow and care transitions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research to enhance cardiovascular care protocols.
- Mentor junior clinical staff and contribute to departmental educational programs.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a cardiology or critical care setting.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically Epic.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered, empathetic care.
