Responsibilities
- Lead the clinical management of critically ill cardiac patients, ensuring adherence to advanced evidence-based protocols.
- Operate and monitor sophisticated life-support systems, including ECMO, VAD, and mechanical ventilators.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, surgeons, and therapists to optimize patient outcomes.
- Conduct rapid-response interventions and lead code blue scenarios with precision and calm.
- Mentor and provide clinical oversight to junior nursing staff and rotating residents.
- Educate patients and their families on complex cardiovascular conditions and post-operative recovery pathways.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree (MSN) preferred.
- Valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Minnesota.
- A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in a Level I or II Cardiac ICU setting.
- Current CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Proven expertise in hemodynamic monitoring and EKG interpretation.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence and communication skills for high-stakes environments.
